"This is my son in whom I am well pleased."

As a pastor I think you already know who I'm going to suggest.  Spoiler alert!  I propose it was Jesus.  He healed, liberated, revolutionized, validated, inspired, encouraged, and served all withoit ever sinning.  That's quite the resume.  So how did Jesus parents feel about Him? Well His dad had this to say.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
What strikes me as profound is that God the Father had this to say of Jesus before any of His miracles or the works of Jesus mentioned in the bible.  This statement was made at the start of Jesus's ministry.
God was pleased with His son not because of what He had done but because Jesus was His son.  In the same way God is pleased with you and me.  Not because of what we do or don't do but because we are His kids. This conveys to me that we don't have to labor for God's approval.  We don't have to work hard to gain His love. We just have to accept it.  When we do accept it, the worth and love we have will naturally pour out onto other people because we will not be able to contain ourselves.
So I want you to do two things to drive this home in your lives.
1.  Speak this sentence out loud using your name.  "This Is ____________Whom I'm well pleased" Say it again. and say it throughout the day outloud!!
2.  Look in the mirror and tell your self out loud,  "God is pleased with me." "God is pleased with me!"
There is nothing you can do to make your heavenly Father more Proud of you or to make Him love you anymore than He already does.
